Unreal Gamification
Challenge: Build a guided activity that introduces attenuation math and the coaxial troubleshooting process
Audience: Primarily high school graduates who identify as “hands-on” learners. Some of their field trainers are likely to undermine any training because of their discomfort with the subject.
Solution: Used the Unreal Game Engine to build a simplified representation of the work environment and 5 different “problems” for a trainer to lead their class through. Included a tool that illustrated how to calculate power loss over distance in a visual way and added subtle gamification by giving each problem a famous literary address.
